In Orange County –
As ripples start spreading from an Ulster County-led investigation of Republican operative Carmen Dubaldi Jr., a former campaign treasurer for Senator Larkin, we're starting to notice scurrying in various county departments. Meanwhile, county executive Neuhaus has been picking up his rate of press releases as November draws closer, heralding the recent report on a Kiryas Joel expansion and sending out images of clinically addicted county residents, while simultaneously shying from the latest Valley View senior housing debacles.

In Ulster County –
Speaking of Valley View, Kingston's raising of its recent court problems as a prompt for looking again at its own Golden Hill sale seems to have fallen flat, just as recent battles over the waste stream have with a solid majority of towns siging on now with the county Resource Recovery Agency, including Wawarsing... which had threatened a lawsuit (which was reported as being laughed at in recent county meetings).

In Wawarsing –
While town supervisor Lenny Distel's been talking trash lawsuits and the possibility of reopening a town landfill for county use, it seems a local legislator has started speaking about running against him when he next comes up for election in two years. As well as the possibility he might not last that long.

In Stone Ridge –
Talk is circulating about big budget and other problems arising at the new community college campus in Kingston, as well as a numbers-game push by the state SUNY board to increase graduation numbers. Stay tuned...
